Slammer's Slap

The Slammer worm created havoc in the IT world. The funny thing is its just 32KB in size and exploits the flaw in MS SQL Server 2000. The symptom is it creates massive UDP traffic by sending packets to one of the service of SQL service listening on UDP port, there by resulting in clogging the network and DOS(deniel of service) attack.

The world is full of WORMs!!!
Its said that Microsoft first release the patch (remember those service pack names SP6a,SP4...) and then the Product. :-)

Sometimes I wonder, isnt there anyway to stop these attacks? Recently I came across a book by Kelvin Midnick titled 'THE ART OF DECEPTION'. Being jailed for his attacks, Kelvin himself is notorious hacker, now he is coming in a different role helping companies to devise their IT-defence policies.

Its quite interesting to note that Slammer is suppose to be originated in China. How these guys trace the origin when there are so many IP addresses spawned across all over the world. Will my tools of Ethreal,ProxyMitron,Ultra-Sniff be of any use?

Long live CyberWorld!!!

Yeh Hai Britain Meri Jaan

This cold is extremely unbearable. The weather is uneven it snows, sunshine sometimes, sometimes chilly. Its said that British weather and Girls are same ... "Both are UnPredictable...". A more sophisticated Indian version of above sentence will be "There is no guarantee of three things in Mumbai Train,Rain and Girl".

Media here is just in search of something Explosive.May it be Michael Jackson's controvercial statement that 'he shares his bedroom with children', may it be Saddam giving interview to ITV1 in arabic, may it be English team not playing in Zimbabwe. Media just need HYPE.
There was this recent case of a woman wrongly jailed for 3-years in case of killing her two kids. Finally judge found her not guilty and released .But she suffered for 3-years and apart from her family. Its said that the important medical report was been kept secret from Judge during the hearings and the lady's husband literally scanned through each and everyline of medical report proving that two kids died with similar symptoms and wasnt fault of the mother.....gosh.....
After reading the coverage, I just shocked, one cant totally believe even on the Court verdict.
Now other similar 7-8 cases of such mothers also got some light of hope.

I found people to be very helpful and friendly though I am in Town. Many times they are interested to know and compare the cultures and value system in India and Britain.
The divorce rate here is very high 4 out of 5 marriages are failure. So people dont want to get married and invoke troubles. They prefer to stay together without marriage, so many girls are single-mom. Another advantage is girls with child get precedence in getting govt benefits like house,tax-rebates etc. Single mom would never been digested in India, remember Nina Gupta and her daughter ?( great going Viv Richards!!! you are first to introduce this concept in india like ur cricket shots).

Work is very cooool here. Its not like Japan (16-18 hours a day). Come at 9AM and go home by 6PM.People give equal importance to their family(?) life.I wonder who drive the economy of this country. Probably those Gujarathis-Patel-Marwaris who came here from Afrika after being literally kicked out by Edi-Amin. Indians flourish here and are most respected than other asians(...u know what I mean). Happen to a Gujju shop on Sunday named' Crazy Prices', he sell all China made items and are not cheap as well (so the name Crazy), but he keep on talking with every customer on almost any topic and know them by their name....good business tactics man!!!. So he has large and fixed customer base who visit him....I am going to join his squad soon.

Technology wise Britain is Years behind Japan. I remember that those Jappus have forecast system on hourly basis, so if u know u will be in Kawasaki at 5:30PM then just look into the web-site(...not throu PC...throu ur i-Mode enabled cell phone.) and check if its going to rain at 5:30PM. Mobile phones are GSM based as well as CDMA.
But much costly, it takes me 10p(Not paisa...pences. 1pence=7.8 rupess) to send a SMS to my friend. So its better to stick to SMS by Emails. Thanks to no@attcell.net and no@bplmobile.com Email2SMS gateways or sms.ac is another option.

But missing all in Pune. Deccan/FC/Barishta/Apna-Ghar/French Class and the favourite time pass.

Thats all for the moment folks!!!
